Arsenal are keen on a deal for Juventus central defender Daniele Rugani before the transfer window closes, according to Corriere Torino, via the Daily Mirror.
They report that the Gunners are considering a loan swoop for the 24-year-old defender who has been shunted even further down the pecking order in Turin by the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt.
The report also says that Rugani has had Premier League interest of late, from Chelsea when Maurizio Sarri was in charge at Stamford Bridge and he is now his boss out in Italy.
And with Arsenal perhaps only really needing a short-term solution at the back with William Saliba set to come in in a year’s time, the deal could well suit all parties.

Many Arsenal fans took to Twitter to encourage their club to get the deal done during a summer which has suddenly kicked into life for the Gunners.
The capture of Saliba is an exciting one but they need a more immediate solution at the heart of a defence that still looks creaky with under two weeks to go until the start of the season.
