Arsenal are interested in signing Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr this summer if they cannot get a deal for Wilfried Zaha over the line, according to Sky Sports News.
They report that the Gunners see the 21-year-old as an ideal backup option to the Crystal Palace flier and he would be a cheaper coup at £35 million.
Watford and Roma apparently provide competition for the pacy wideman and the fact that he is currently shining for Senegal at the African Cup of Nations may serve to boost interest in his services.
But with the finances on the Zaha deal still looking far from being done, Sarr is apparently being lined up as an alternative – provided the Hornets don’t smash their transfer record and get there first.

Many Arsenal fans took to Twitter to urge their club to go for Sarr over Zaha – perhaps feeling he can have a longer career at the club or represents a better deal financially.
Sarr has got some supporters excited, and there may be a few more Gunners supporters tuning into the AFCON in the coming weeks to see how he gets on with Senegal…
