Arsenal are reportedly at risk of losing senior duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette next summer if they miss out on Champions League football – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by stating they wouldn’t blame them for exiting.
According to the Telegraph, the Gunners may have a “huge fight” to keep the centre-forwards for next season if they are not back competing in Europe’s elite club competition.
The report explains that the North London club have been trying to negotiate new deals for both players.
Arsenal currently sit fifth in the Premier League table and are four points adrift of fourth already, which is why they could be in for a tough battle to qualify for the Champions League via the domestic route.
Unai Emery’s team would earn a pass if they won the Europa League, but they were crushed 4-1 in the final of the competition last season by Chelsea.
A selection of Arsenal supporters on social media accept that two of their star players will reportedly consider leaving if there is no Champions League football once again at the Emirates Stadium.
Aubameyang is a quality striker with eight goals in 12 appearances across all competitions this season, but he often has to watch the defence behind him leak goals.
The 30-year-old is at the peak of his powers and should be competing in the best competitions.
Meanwhile, Lacazette managed 19 goals across all competitions last season and has been unfortunate with injury at the beginning of this campaign.
The 28-year-old Frenchman is another one of the top-class talents at the Gunners disposal, but unfortunately most of it is in attack and not spread across the XI.
Here are some Arsenal fans responding to the Aubameyang and Lacazette speculation:
World class strikers in the peak of their powers who deserve better than playing for a massive club who still lack ambition. love Arsenal more than anything but we must start acting like the massive club we are. love them and hope they stay until the very end. New manager needed

And I wouldn’t blame them if they did. Of course I don’t want them to.

They have every right. They can’t get us top 4 by themselves.

Fair thing to do. They can’t waste their best year’s in Europa league.

No suprise add them to the long list of others who have weighed things up and ended up leaving…

If they leave I’m going with them

Literally two best strikers on paper and we’re wasting their prime years. Don’t blame them if we don’t make UCL

And rightly so…they deserve better than Emeryball (whatever he thinks that is) and the Europa tin pot League. Sad that we as one the biggest clubs in the world club can’t secure 4th place in the PL and utilize our talent because of the poor tactical approach of this manager.
