Arsenal fans react to performance of Gabriel during Leicester defeat

The defender was praised for his performance against the Foxes.

Arsenal were beaten 1-0 by Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium last night but despite the defeat, supporters took to Twitter to rave about central defender Gabriel.

Jamie Vardy’s second-half goal was enough for Foxes to claim another quality away win with Brendan Rodgers already overseeing victory at Manchester City this season.

It proved a frustrating night for Mikel Arteta’s team as they failed to really get going, with the opposition nullifying the threat of their front three.

Had the game finished goalless it probably wouldn’t have been a completely unfair result and Brazilian defender Gabriel once again shone at the heart of the defence.

The 22-year-old signed in the summer for £27 million from Lille and is already looking like money well spent for the Gunners.

Gabriel has played seven matches for Arsenal and it’s already clear to see why Arteta was so keen to sign him in the first place.

He was powerless to prevent Leicester scoring their winning goal last night and he will undoubtedly improve as the season progresses and he gets up to speed with the Premier League.

Following last night’s game, supporters took to Twitter to discuss the performance from their uncompromising centre-back.

Here is what they were saying about the Brazilian.
