Arsenal have suffered a major blow to their Premier League title hopes due to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to West Ham on Saturday.
The Gunners were hoping to get to within five points of Liverpool, but instead they’ve handed the Reds the chance to go 11 points clear by Sunday evening.
Arsenal had the edge in the first-half but they were caught out as West Ham scored against the run of play in the 44th minute.
Jarrod Bowen started and finished the move as he released Aaron Wan-Bissaka before running the length of the pitch and heading his teammate’s cross home.
In addition, Arsenal finished the game with ten men as Myles Lewis-Skelly was sent off for bringing down Mohammed Kudus as the last man.

Although the foul occurred on the halfway line, Gunners goalkeeper David Raya was way off his line and Kudus was in.
Craig Pawson initially showed Lewis-Skelly a yellow card but VAR recommended for the referee to have a second look, and he upgraded it to red.
Arsenal fans had their say on the incident and, unlike the red card Lewis-Skelly received against Wolves that was rightly rescinded, there wasn’t as much debate this time round.

Arsenal fans acknowledge Myles Lewis-Skelly deserved red card
Many Arsenal supporters acknowledged that Lewis-Skelly wasn’t hard done by with the red card he received this time round.
“I can’t say I disagree with that red card,” one fan wrote on X.
“It’s a stupid challenge, and Lewis-Skelly has only himself to blame for taking too much time on the ball.”
Another fan said: “This is horrific. Myles Lewis-Skelly what on earth are you doing.”
Other Arsenal fans acknowledged it was a red-card offence, one writing: “Correct decision by the ref.
“Horrible by Lewis-Skelly. Let the team down massively by doing that.”
Another wrote: “Well this one *absolutely is a red* on Lewis Skelly. No complaints.”
One fan was also critical of David Raya, writing: “Gotta feel for Lewis-Skelly there. Definitely a red but it was Raya’s positioning that left him in that situation.
“This season is done. Without Saka, with no proper strikers and with Odegaard off his game for weeks, we’re stuffed. Let’s do what we can and build for next year.”
What the Premier League Match Centre said about Myles Lewis-Skelly incident
The Premier League Match Centre took to X during the game and explained why there was a call for Pawson to review his original decision.
“VAR checked the referee’s call of yellow card to Lewis-Skelly for a challenge on Kudus,” they began.
“Deeming it denial of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity due to the goalkeeper’s position and there being no covering defender, therefore recommended an on-field review.
“The referee then upgraded the yellow to a red card.”
Arsenal are next in action on Wednesday night when they take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
