Arsenal were beaten by Olympiacos last night but still progressed to the last eight of the Europa League 3-2 on aggregate. Afterwards, supporters were keen to rave about Bernd Leno for a moment of magic in the first half.

The German stopper produced a wonderful save to deny Youssef El-Arabi after the striker had escaped the attention of Gabriel.

It was a save which proved reactionary but nonetheless, it kept Arsenal in the driving seat to progress to the quarter-final.

The 29-year-old has played 105 times for the Gunners in total and has been firmly established as the club’s number one this season.

He arrived at Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen and after taking some time to settle is now considered among the best in the Premier League.

The £100,000-a-week stopper is clearly a favourite in the eyes of Arteta and he’s a real asset to the football club.

After last night’s big moment, supporters took to Twitter to heap praise on the player with eight caps for his country.

Here is what they had to say about Leno’s crucial save.
