If any one of the teams between third and sixth in the Premier League table had been able to string a run of wins together in the closing weeks of the season, they’d have booked their place in next season’s Champions League by now.
As it is, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have all contrived not to win for the second weekend running, which is staggering for such expensively assembled sides with their eyes on such an important prize.
But it’s the Gunners who find themselves on the back foot, after yet another away defeat yesterday, going down 3-0 against Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
It was a fairly even game until Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ first half red card for two bookable offences, both of which look harsh, in truth.

After that, the Foxes ripped through their visitors with ease. First, Youri Tielemans opened the scoring before Jamie Vardy continued his excellent record against the top six with a double to condemn Arsenal to a 3-0 loss.
But the fans took to Twitter to react to that red card which was the turning point of the match. The reaction was far from composed, with the supporters fuming that top four looks to have passed them by, as well as taking aim at their own players and the referee…
