Arsenal fans react to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s performance against Newcastle

Many Arsenal fans have laid into Henrikh Mkhitaryan for his performance against Newcastle United.

The Gunners ran out 1-0 winners at St. James’ Park to get their 2019/20 Premier League season off to a positive start.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal was the difference between the two sides, and Arsenal will be hoping to follow the result up with three points against Burnley next weekend.

If the majority of Arsenal fans have their way, Armenia international Mkhitaryan will not be selected to start the game, after a disappointing display against the Magpies.

The winger saw enough of the ball but was often wasteful.

He made a few decent runs and set Aubameyang up for a good chance in the first half but was generally very inconsistent, a word that can very much be used to sum up his time as an Arsenal player.

According to Squawka, he lost the ball 15 times in the first half and things did not improve in the second.

The former Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund man had a poor campaign in 2018/19 and is really in need of big season – especially now the club have signed Nicolas Pepe.
