Arsenal fans react to Hector Bellerin contract reports

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Guardian linking Hector Bellerin with a new contract at the Emirates.

Bellerin has been heavily linked with a move away from the Gunners this summer.

He has reportedly told Arsenal he would like to leave. And the Guardian has also noted that he feels ready for a new challenge.

But it would appear that Arsenal are ready to take a surprise step.

The Guardian claims that they have told his camp that they would like the Spaniard to sign a new deal.

Unsurprisingly, the reports have prompted an incredibly strong response on social media.

Many were unhappy with reports suggesting that Granit Xhaka has signed a new contract this week. And it would appear that several are even more disappointed to hear that the 26-year-old could follow suit.

Bellerin has struggled over the last few years. He has fallen behind Calum Chambers in the pecking order. In fact, Nuno Tavares came on ahead of him during the clash with Brentford on Friday.

He reportedly wishes to leave. So, understandably, many fans feel that it is such a bizarre step to try and agree a new deal with him.
