Arsenal fans react to Hector Bellerin comments on his future
A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments from Hector Bellerin in which he seemed to suggest that he wants to stay with Real Betis beyond his loan spell.
Bellerin left the Gunners in the summer. It came after the 26-year-old had endured a difficult time for Mikel Arteta’s side.
He has since started four of the five La Liga games Betis have played since his arrival.
Of course, next summer is a long way away. But Bellerin appears to be very much open to the idea of staying in Spain beyond the end of his loan spell.
He was asked in an interview with El Desmarque where he sees himself in June.
“I don’t know, but I’ve always said it: if I didn’t want to be here next year, I wouldn’t have come from the beginning,” he told El Desmarque.
It would make sense for all parties if Bellerin was sold next summer, as things stand.
Takehiro Tomiyasu has made a brilliant start to life at the Emirates. And Arteta also boasts a number of other options for the right-back position.
Bellerin meanwhile, appeared to need a fresh challenge in the summer. And, from the outside, it is hard to imagine that Arsenal or Bellerin would have had a problem had a club offered a permanent move.
So his comments will probably come as little surprise to some of the Arsenal fans.
Most supporters appear to feel that the time is right to let him go permanently. They are hopeful that Tomiyasu is going to prove to be a fantastic signing in the years to come.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Arsenal fans were saying about Bellerin’s comments…
I think we should let him go to Betis next summer. His Arsenal career is over & I think he wants to go as well. https://t.co/ZQ8l1mFf39

Hector is a especial human being, and will always be loved by true gooners.

@ChrisWheatley_ i really think hb and tommy would work very well together. I know hb wants to start game in and game out, but i know he adores Arsenal and london and i believe he can teach tommy alot about the epl and rwb/rb. Bring him back home

Not the same player since he done his ACL. Lost his pace and confidence. Sad to be honest but I’m sure he will do well in the Spanish league

If you were Bellerin and watched Tomiyasu for 5minutes on debut you would not harbour the thought of returning, would you?

Good. Cash in on him

We can develop as a team or live by memories. Keeping HB at the club is clearly the second. He is not good enough to play football for us, end of the story. No matter how much we like him as a person.
