It is never a dull day to be an Arsenal fan at the moment. Yesterday saw Cedric Soares and David Luiz reportedly offered new deals and a topsy-turvy day in regards to injury trouble.

Most fans feared the worst regarding Bernd Leno’s knee after his collision with Neal Maupay at the weekend. However, it appears the German keeper has avoided serious injury and a lengthy absence is not expected.

But then, moments after that news was announced, Arsenal confirmed that young forward Gabriel Martinelli had suffered a knee injury of his own in training which already appears more serious.

The Brazilian talent is highly-rated by the Arsenal faithful and since the Premier League restart plenty of Gunners fans have been openly suggesting that the 19-year-old deserves more game time under Mikel Arteta. Martinelli has not featured in either of Arsenal’s matches since the Premier League returned to action.

That now looks unlikely, with the teenager’s season potential over.

Arsenal fans took to Twitter in their droves to wish Martinelli the best in his recovery but also curse what appears to be some seriously cursed luck since the team’s return to action.
