Arsenal fans react to Gabriel Magalhaes display vs Burnley

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Gabriel Magalhaes’ display as the Gunners beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s men have now claimed back-to-back victories in the Premier League. Understandably, given the opposition, fans may be reluctant to get too carried away.

But there were some incredibly promising signs against the Clarets. Given the way Burnley play, Arsenal’s backline can take huge encouragement from their performance and the fact they kept a clean sheet.

And no player in the back four seemed to stand out more than Gabriel.

Arsenal have not conceded a goal since the Brazilian returned from injury. And he was colossal against Sean Dyche’s side.

As shown by Whoscored, he made 10 clearances. Ben White was the next most prolific player in that area of the field, but he managed six.

Meanwhile, no player won more aerial duels than the £50,000-a-week centre-back. And he also topped the Arsenal charts for most successful tackles.

Arsenal supporters have known about his potential for some time. But many are clearly convinced that he is ready to take his game to the next level this season.

He has been outstanding alongside White. And with Takehiro Tomiyasu on the right, and Kieran Tierney on the left, Arsenal appear to have a backline they can really build upon.
