Arsenal fans react to Freddie Woodman interest reports

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from Football London last week claiming that the Gunners remain keen on Freddie Woodman.

Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen to sign a new goalkeeper in this window. Alex Runarsson has struggled since arriving at the Emirates in the summer.

And it appears that Woodman is on their radar. According to Football London, Arsenal have been monitoring the 23-year-old since the end of last season.

Woodman is currently enjoying his second loan spell at Swansea City. And no goalkeeper has kept more clean sheets in the Championship this season. In fact, he is four clear of his nearest rival.

It will be interesting to see if Newcastle have any interest in selling the youngster. He is yet to make his Premier League debut for the club. But he appears to have an incredibly bright future ahead.

What may complicate matters for the Magpies is the presence of Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow. Unless one is set to leave in the summer, Woodman would seemingly be in danger of finding himself as third choice should he remain on Tyneside next season.

Plenty of Arsenal fans would be happy to see him arrive at the Emirates this month. Many believe that he is going to be a fantastic goalkeeper in the coming years.

Some seemingly see him taking over from Bernd Leno at some stage. And if Newcastle cannot show him a path to the first-team, Woodman would surely be forgiven for being tempted by Arsenal’s reported interest.
