An Arsenal XI of mainly Under 23 and Under 18 players secured a 3-2 victory over Barnet last night, as reported by the club’s official website.
The win was earned by a rapid six-minute hat-trick by young striker Folarin Balogun, who had netted three goals within just 18 minutes of the match.
While some of Arsenal’s young stars, such as Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah, have been lighting up the United States, Balogun took his opportunity to shine at home.
With Danny Welbeck having left the club on a free transfer this summer, Nketiah and perhaps Balogun may have their eye on an opportunity to impress in cup matches or off the bench.

Loads of Gunners fans took to Twitter in response and got very excited indeed about what Balogun did last night, with many calling him better than Manchester United prospect Mason Greenwood, who has also had an impressive pre-season.
With transfer business stagnating, perhaps the most exciting element of being an Arsenal fan at the moment is the potential of the club’s young players and Balogun looks to be the latest cab off the rank.
