Arsenal fans react to contrasting reports on future of Folarin Balogun

Folarin Balogun’s contract situation has caused quite a stir today, with contradictory reports emerging about the Arsenal talent.

The Athletic have claimed that the youngster is close to signing a pre-contract agreement with a club overseas.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has denied such a notion though, claiming the club are hopeful of keeping the 19-year-old.

Balogun is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2021 and Mikel Arteta has spoken of a desire to keep him.

The Hale End graduate has scored two goals in four Europa League outings this season, although he is yet to make a Premier League appearance.

Balogun scored goals by the bucket-load for the club’s academy ranks and supporters had hoped to see him make the grade in the first-team.

That hasn’t happened as of yet, however.

Given the various reports this afternoon, supporters have taken to Twitter to discuss the situation regarding Balogun.

During the summer transfer window, Arsenal slapped a £15 million price tag on their young talent.

Sheffield United were thought to be keen but if he signs a pre-contract agreement to move aboard the compensation is likely to be a lot less.
