It is almost 14 years to the day that Robin van Persie scored a goal of the season for Arsenal in front of the Jimmy Seed Stand of the Valley.
Charlton Athletic may now be looking to get themselves out of League One at the first attempt, but they have still managed to concede an outstanding goal at the hands of a striker currently on Arsenal’s books this weekend.

Tyreece John-Jules went into Saturday’s clash in South East London awaiting his first goal for Doncaster Rovers having joined the club on loan in the summer.
But his wait is already over. And the goal that has opened his account for the campaign proved to be an absolute stunner as Darren Moore’s men claimed a 3-1 win.

The 19-year-old received the ball on the corner of the box and proceeded to dance past a couple of challenges before unleashing a great strike into the roof of the net.
Of course, Arsenal’s supporters were not there to embrace John-Jules in the same way van Persie had been when he leapt towards the crowd after smashing home his incredible volley.
But they have done their best to enjoy the moment on social media. Many have taken to Twitter to heap praise on John-Jules.
Football London reported shortly after he left on loan that some at the club are backing John-Jules to become a first-team regular in the coming years.
He still faces an incredibly difficult task given the quality Arsenal boast in attack. However, his goal this weekend suggests that he certainly has the ability to live up to expectations.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to John-Jules’s stunning goal…
