Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Tariq Lamptey interest reports

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mirror claiming that the Gunners are interested in signing Tariq Lamptey.

Lamptey has been one of the revelations of the season in the Premier League. The 20-year-old has provided plenty of excitement with his lightning runs down Brighton’s right flank.

He only arrived on the south coast during the last January transfer window. But it appears that he could be offered the chance to be on the move once again in the near future.

The Daily Mirror reports that the Gunners may face a fight to keep Hector Bellerin amid potential interest from Barcelona.

And should they lose the Spaniard, Mikel Arteta would want to make a move for Lamptey. It is suggested that Arsenal have been keeping close tabs on the former Chelsea man.

The Mirror adds that the Seagulls will be looking to tie the youngster down to a new contract. Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also reportedly interested.

‘Would love it to happen’

The links with Lamptey have got down incredibly well amongst Arsenal fans on social media. In fact, many feel that the club should be willing to move Bellerin on to get the target through the Emirates door.

Bellerin has come in for plenty of criticism in recent times. And several have suggested that the Brighton man would be an upgrade.
