A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Shkodran Mustafi’s performance as the Gunners drew their first game under Freddie Ljungberg.
Mustafi went into Arsenal’s trip to Norwich City still awaiting his first Premier League appearance of the season. But Ljungberg decided to hand the German his chance at Carrow Road.

It was a pulsating game as the two sides played out a 2-2 draw. But Arsenal fans will probably be somewhat grateful to Bernd Leno who made some brilliant saves during the second-half to deny the visitors.
And the amount of work that Leno had to do was partially down to the problems that Norwich’s attackers caused the Gunners’ defence.

Mustafi really struggled to deal with Teemu Pukki. And he could arguably take a portion of the blame for both of the goals that Arsenal conceded at Carrow Road.
His performance has prompted a number of Arsenal fans to insist that Ljungberg needs to follow Unai Emery’s lead and push the centre-back to the periphery of the squad.
Whoscored.com shows that Mustafi won just one of the three tackles he attempted. No player who started for either side and attempted a challenge boasted a worse success rate.
It would be unfair to suggest that Mustafi was the only defender to struggle. Neither Calum Chambers or David Luiz covered themselves in glory.
But the supporters have been extremely critical of Mustafi’s performance. And they are hoping that his return to the side is only a brief one.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to Mustafi’s display…
