A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to discuss Sergio Aguero amid reports that the striker is open to joining another Premier League club should he leave Manchester City this summer.

Agüero has already secured his spot as one of the best goalscorers the Premier League has ever seen. He will also be forever remembered for the goal that clinched City the title in 2012.

But it appears that the curtain could soon be brought down on his time at the Etihad Stadium. The Times reports that his current contract with the Cityzens expires in the summer. And it is suggested that they are yet to offer an extension.

The 32-year-old reportedly wants to stay put if given the chance. However, he is seemingly planning to not let his association with City stop him considering staying in England if he does leave and other clubs come calling.

The Times notes that he would be open to signing for a top flight rival if he becomes a free agent.

The idea of Aguero playing for another Premier League club is a tough one to get the head around, in truth.

He is obviously approaching the twilight of his career and has not been as influential this season as he has been throughout his time in England.

However, he may be worth the gamble for a club that can afford to meet whatever his wage demands prove to be. He is currently on £260,000-a-week, according to The Sun.

And some Arsenal fans clearly think that they should be the side to offer him that fresh challenge.

The Gunners have a striker facing an uncertain future themselves. As reported by Football London, Alexandre Lacazette could be sold this summer with his contract up in 2022.

You could understand why Arsenal may feel that they have to sell the Frenchman, who could potentially enter talks over a free transfer as soon as next January.

Handing the 29-year-old fresh terms would see him signed up well into his 30s. Of course, Aguero is a couple of years older and has scored fewer goals this term.

However, some may think getting a fee for Lacazette and bringing in Aguero on a free for a couple of years could open the door for Arsenal to also invest more in their long-term project.

Admittedly, some do not believe that Aguero would be a good signing. Arsenal have not had the best experience after signing Willian on a free from Chelsea in the summer.

But others have suggested that the Gunners would be foolish not to make a move if the chance presented itself. Aguero has scored 181 Premier League goals.

His strike-rate is very similar to the one Thierry Henry boasted before he left Arsenal for Barcelona.

Obviously, Aguero is gradually coming towards the end of his career. But some Gunners fans feel that he still has plenty to offer – under a coach he already knows well in Mikel Arteta.

With that in mind, here is how some of the Arsenal supporters have reacted to the reports…
