A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment after the Gunners suggested on their official website that Sead Kolasinac will miss Saturday’s clash with Sheffield United due to injury.
Kolasinac has been extremely impressive since Mikel Arteta took charge of the Gunners. And he has won a lot of admirers for the way that he has played through the pain barrier at times in recent weeks.
Unfortunately for the fans, it appeared that the Bosnia and Herzegovina international was going to miss their next game.
The club reported on their official website that Kolasinac would miss the clash with the Blades due to a thigh strain.
The report noted that the 26-year-old was being assessed of next week, seemingly hinting that the problem may not be too serious. Nevertheless, plenty of Arsenal fans clearly feel that it is a major blow to lose the full-back.
With Kieran Tierney also sidelined, Arteta will have to consider bringing someone into the left-back spot. The obvious candidate is surely Bukayo Saka, who has filled in in that position previously.
And given how impressive Kolasinac has been in recent weeks, you can understand why some supporters seem so dejected about the reports.
It must be noted however, that Arteta has since suggested, in comments also reported by on the club’s official website, that a final decision has not yet been taken on Kolasinac.
And that has prompted some fans to predict that the defender will play on Saturday. He does appear to be the kind of player who will do all he can to be involved if there is any chance.
Here is what some of the supporters made of the initial reports concerning Kolasinac…
Defenders constantly getting injured. So annoying.

Sign an LB please. Kolasinac is a warrior, but clearly he’s not 100%. We cannot count on Tierney this season I’m afraid ☹️

Rest up pal. It’s a long season and you offered to put yourself on the line the past few weeks knowing your ankle was in pain. #Tank 🤙🏼

Expect Kolasinac to play being the warrior that he is. How he came back for United out of the blue is remarkable.
