Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Ruben Neves display

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ruben Neves after his performance for Wolves on Saturday – with many bemoaning the Gunners not getting a deal across the line in the summer.

Neves more than played his part as Wolves came from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa at Villa Park. In fact, they found themselves two goals adrift with 80 minutes on the clock.

Neves scored the 94th minute winner as his free-kick took a big deflection. But he also played his part in Wolves’ first goal, playing a sumptuous pass into the path of Daniel Podence.

Only Tyrone Mings completed a greater number of accurate passes than the Portuguese, according to Whoscored.

And his display certainly caught the attention of a number of Arsenal fans on social media.

Of course, Neves was quite heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, particularly in the early stages of the summer.

In fact, The Sun reported in July that talks were being held over the 24-year-old. However, his £35 million asking price was said to be a stumbling block.

Obviously, no move would take place. And clearly, some Arsenal fans did not mind them missing out on the midfielder.

But following his performance on Saturday, plenty of fans have taken to social media to insist that the Gunners made an error not getting a deal across the line.

It does appear that Arsenal could do with more quality and depth in the middle of the park. And some would have liked Neves to have been the answer.
