Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Roberto Martinez links
A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the suggestion that Roberto Martinez is one of the names in the frame to succeed Unai Emery at the Emirates.
The Gunners are continuing their search for Emery’s replacement. And the Daily Mirror is one of the outlets reporting that Martinez is one of the names in the frame.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal could speak to up to 10 candidates about the post. And Martinez is one of those that they hope to hold talks with.
Martinez is currently gearing up for Euro 2020 where he will be hoping to lead Belgium to the major trophy that their golden generation has looked destined for for some time.

And it appears that plenty of Arsenal supporters hope that his focus remains on Belgium moving forward. There do not appear to be many who are interested in seeing the Spaniard come in following a mixed record in the Premier League.
There were undoubtedly moments of major success. He kept Wigan Athletic in the top flight for a number of years. And of course, he also guided the Latics to a famous FA Cup win. He also took Everton to a fifth place finish in his first season at Goodison Park.
However, two bottom-half finishes followed on Merseyside. But he was dismissed shortly before the end of his third season with the Toffees. It could also be argued that Belgium not winning a trophy during this period would be a major disappointment.
There are some supporters who would like to see Martinez appointed. But it does appear that the majority would be underwhelmed.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to the links…
I would take Roberto Martinez at Arsenal tbh

The state of some of the names mentioned to be the next Arsenal manager. Love Vieira but as a manager? Nope. Roberto Martinez? ?? For me, it’s either Poch or give it to Arteta to work with us the next few seasons. Ideally Pep has rubbed off on him #AFC #Arsenal https://t.co/v1HD3sPu2A

What is Martinez doing there?

Roberto Martínez even being mentioned as a candidate for the Arsenal job is worrying, that’s like a tier 3 or 4 level coach, a considerable downgrade on Emery even.

Roberto Martinez? Seriously? Just no.

Martinez? No thanks. Poch and Ancelotti only credible names there.

It better not be Roberto Martinez. Why is he even on the shortlist ffs
