Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Mohamed Elneny news
A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to the announcement made by the Egyptian FA on their official website concerning Mohamed Elneny.
Elneny – who earns £50,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – has been one of Mikel Arteta’s key players so far this season. Like many of his teammates, he struggled against Aston Villa just before the international break.

However, his display against Manchester United the week before highlighted just how good he can be. And it provided an incredibly exciting sign about the partnership he could develop alongside Thomas Partey.
Unfortunately for Arsenal, it appears that he is in danger of missing their next couple of games. According to the Egyptian FA, he has tested positive for coronavirus.

Fortunately, Elneny is not showing any symptoms. As noted by BBC Sport, he is expected to undergo a further test after previously returning a number of negative results before the positive one.
As things stand however, Elneny is now set to miss Sunday’s trip to Leeds United. BBC Sport also suggested that he could be out for the Europa League tie with Molde next week.
Unsurprising, the large majority of Arsenal fans have sent their best wishes to Elneny. And understandably, plenty have expressed their frustration at the staging of this international break.
‘Such a great idea’
It did appear that few football fans felt that players linking up with their nations at this time was a good idea. And that number is surely dwindling with each passing day.
Interestingly, there were a couple of suggestions from Arsenal fans for Arteta to turn to Joe Willock. Willock has been superb in the Europa League this season. And some want him to get a chance in the top flight if Elneny is indeed ruled out for a short period.
Here is a taste of the reaction from Arsenal fans following the announcement…

Hope Elneny recovers quickly 🙏🏽 but this is the right time to make a gamble and play Willock alongside Partey now in my opinion
