Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Mohamed Elneny contract reports

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from the Daily Mail this week suggesting that Mohamed Elneny is set to be offered a new contract at the Emirates.

It has been a remarkable time for the Egyptian. Before leaving on loan last season, he appeared to be a player that the Gunners fans were never entirely convinced about.

And as noted by the Mail, it appeared that Elneny looked set to be one of the players moved on in the summer. However, he has actually proved to be a revelation this season.

Elneny has been incredibly consistent for Mikel Arteta’s men so far. And his display against Manchester United at the weekend was labelled his best for the club by Martin Keown (via Match of the Day 2).

Perhaps unsurprisingly therefore, Arsenal are seemingly keen to tie Elneny down to fresh terms. According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are preparing a new contract for the 28-year-old.

It is noted that his current deal is set to expire in 2022. So there are plenty of supporters who have been left delighted to hear that he may be in line for a longer stay.

Several believe that he will be able to build on his current run of form. And one supporter even labelled the midfielder Arsenal’s best player so far this season.
