Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Mikel Arteta's Kieran Tierney comments

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments made by Mikel Arteta – reported by the London Evening Standard – where he confirmed that Kieran Tierney is going nowhere this summer.

It has not been the easiest first season in North London for Tierney. He has struggled with injury, meaning that he has made just 18 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.

He has however, established himself as a fan favourite with his performances. Tierney has demonstrated many of the attributes that made him so influential at Celtic.

And his form has not gone unnoticed. The London Evening Standard reports that Leicester City are interested in potentially signing Tierney amid question marks hanging over Ben Chilwell’s future.

But Arteta has shut down any suggestion that the left-back may be on the move this summer.

“He’s not going anywhere,” he said, as reported by the London Evening Standard. “I really like him.

“I’m very impressed him. Everybody loves him at the club and he earns that every single day with the way he treats people, the way he works and the energy he brings to the place.”

Unsurprisingly, the comments have gone down incredibly well amongst the Arsenal fans on social media.

Many believe that the 23-year-old is going to kick on and prove to be an inspired signing for the Gunners over the coming years.

In fact, there were a number of supporters claiming that everything is in place for Tierney to become a future captain of the club.
