Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Marcel Sabitzer’s Champions League display

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to implore the Gunners to make a move to sign Marcel Sabitzer after the midfielder struck a brace in RB Leipzig’s Champions League  win on Tuesday night.

The Bundesliga side are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after an emphatic victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Leipzig won the second-leg 3-0 to go through 4-0 on aggregate. And one of the victorious players certainly seemed to catch the eye of the Arsenal fans on social media.

Sabitzer put the tie to bed during the second-leg, with two goals coming inside 21 minutes from the midfielder.

His first goal saw the 25-year-old find the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Meanwhile, his second saw the Austrian find the back of the net with a near post header.

And plenty of Arsenal players suggested that he is exactly the kind of player who could be a revelation in Mikel Arteta’s midfield at the Emirates.

In truth, a number of Leipzig players stood out across the two legs. But Sabitzer played a crucial role in Julian Nagelsmann’s men ensuring that Spurs’ hopes of a comeback were quickly extinguished.

And the Arsenal supporters are hoping that the Gunners hierarchy were watching closely in the hope that a summer move can take place.
