A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to the announcement that the club made on their official website that Konstantinos Mavropanos has joined FC Nurnberg on loan for the rest of the season.

Mavropanos is yet to make his Premier League debut for the Gunners. But he has featured in the Europa League this season. And he has been named in a number of Mikel Arteta’s matchday squads since the Spaniard’s arrival.

But he will now get the chance to get regular minutes under his belt during the second-half of the campaign. Arsenal have confirmed on their official website that Mavropanos will spend the rest of the season on loan in Germany’s second tier.

Nurnberg sit 16th having been relegated from the Bundesliga last season. They are just seven points off sixth however, so there is plenty to play for this term.

Plenty of Arsenal fans have expressed their delight for Mavropanos. They believe that he still has an opportunity to make the grade at the Emirates. And they hope that regular game-time may help the centre-back develop further ahead of next season.

There is also some excitement for what Mavropanos’s exit may mean for Arsenal’s January window. The Gunners lack options at the heart of the defence with Calum Chambers sidelined for a lengthy spell due to injury.

And the supporters are hoping that the 22-year-old’s exit has been sanctioned because a new signing is coming in at some stage this month.

Here is how some of the Arsenal fans reacted to the announcement…
