Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Kieran Tierney's North London derby display

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Kieran Tierney’s display as the left-back shone in the North London derby win against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Gunners produced a sensational performance against their bitter rivals at the Emirates. Their display was all the more encouraging as they battled back from going a goal down.

Their equaliser came after some superb work down Arsenal’s left flank. That allowed Tierney to find Martin Odegaard inside the box. His effort was deflected past Hugo Lloris.

It threatened to be a tough afternoon for Tierney. Gareth Bale has started to find his form after a tough start to life back in North London.

And Matt Doherty has shown some positive signs in recent weeks after coming in for criticism previously.

But Tierney – who earns £81,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – dealt with the challenge superbly. Bale was taken off before the hour mark not long before Alexandre Lacazette put the home side in front from the penalty spot.

As shown by Whoscored, no player on the pitch won more challenges than the 23-year-old. He also made two key passes in the victory.

The Scot has been outstanding for much of the campaign. And plenty of supporters have insisted that he was, once again, a standout performer in what was a sensational display from Mikel Arteta’s men.
