Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Kieran Tierney’s display

A number of Arsenal fans have been blown away by Kieran Tierney after the left-back produced an outstanding performance in the 4-0 win against Standard Liege in the Europa League.

It has been a difficult time for Tierney since arriving at the Emirates in the summer. Injury has restricted the Scot to just one appearance so far this season. But Emery confirmed ahead of the game, in comments reported by Football London, that he was set to be involved against the Belgian side.

Tierney’s sole appearance for the Gunners had whetted the appetite for when he reaches full fitness. So there was plenty of excitement heading into the clash with Michael Preud’homme’s men.

And Tierney certainly did not disappoint. It took the 22-year-old just 13 minutes to register an assist. His superb cross was turned home by Gabriel Martinelli for the game’s opening goal.

His passing and crossing was excellent all evening, and he won every challenge that he went in for, according to Whoscored.com.

It looks to be a matter of time before Tierney is a regular in the starting lineup. And judging by the reaction to his display in the emphatic victory, the fans would love to see the youngster keep his place for Sunday’s clash against Bournemouth.
