A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Kieran Tierney’s performance as the Gunners suffered a disappointing defeat at home to Leicester City on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s side did have the ball in the net early on against the Foxes. However, Alexandre Lacazette’s header was chalked off with Granit Xhaka stood in an offside position.
And that frustration proved to be a sign of what was to come for Arsenal. They struggled to recreate anything like their best form against Brendan Rodgers’s men. And it was the visitors who bagged the only goal, with Jamie Vardy scoring late on.
A number of players seemed to come in for criticism due to their underwhelming performances. It was a game that seemed to lack quality, particularly in the final third.
But Tierney was one member of the Gunners’ squad who did receive some credit.
Many felt that if anything good was going to happen for Arteta’s men, it was likely to come from Tierney down the left flank.
His passing was not perfect. But there were some moments of real quality from the Scotland international that were not capitalised on.
And the decision to take him off for Eddie Nketiah with nine minutes remaining was criticised by a number of fans. Several felt that Arteta took off the wrong player.
Here is how some of the supporters reacted to Tierney’s display, as well as the decision to take him off…
If we don’t get champions league this year. Tierney will leave I’m telling you now

I have no problem for Nketiah coming on, he has the talked to make a difference. More the issue that Tierney was sacrificed whilst players like Laca and Ceballos are still on who have been meh.

Laca should’ve been off the pitch at half time. To then sub Tierney; who’s easily one of our best players whilst Laca remains on the pitch flunking his chances left and right has me so mad. SO MAD

Tierney is the only positive from this game

The fact Luiz and Tierney were our best players sums up this game

Tierney was the best man on the pitch in the first half, and he was the one who came off in the second, silly decision Arteta, very silly 😕
