Sky Sports reports that one of the players that they hope to sign in January is Volland. It is suggested that Arsenal scouts have watched the 27-year-old on a number of occasions recently and his name is amongst those that will be put to Arteta.

Volland has 18 months left on his contract at Bayer Leverkusen (via Sky Sports). He has scored six goals in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season, while he has also contributed six assists.

The reports appear to have divided many of the Arsenal fans on social media. There are plenty who believe that the priority has to be signing a new defender. The Gunners have some brilliant attacking players, and it is suggested that Volland may be an unnecessary signing.

However, some do believe that he could be an inspired addition at the Emirates, and they have expressed a hope that he will join the club in the near future.
