A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mirror suggesting that the Gunners want Hakan Calhanoglu on loan.
Arsenal have been busy in the loan market so far this month, but only in terms of letting players leave the Emirates on a temporary basis.
But it appears that Mikel Arteta is interested in making Calhanoglu one of his first signings since being appointed.
The Daily Mirror reports that the Turkey international is keen to leave AC Milan this month. He reportedly has concerns about the game-time he is enjoying ahead of Euro 2020.
And Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the 25-year-old for the rest of the season.
Arsenal’s next loan flop?
But the report does not appear to have gone down at all well amongst the Arsenal supporters on social media.
Despite his concerns over game-time, Calhanoglu has made 18 Serie A starts this season. In that time, he has provided just one assist and two goals.
He has not kicked on during his time with the Rossoneri. And Gunners supporters clearly feel that he would bring little to the side if he moved to the Premier League this month.
Arsenal do not have a particularly good record when it comes to signing players on loan in recent years. And the fans certainly fear that Calhanoglu would become the latest loan flop if he did arrive.
Here is what some of the Arsenal fans make of the reports…
Terrible player no thanks even on loan
