A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Granit Xhaka’s performance during the Gunners’ 1-1 draw with Bournemouth in Mikel Arteta’s first game in charge.
Arsenal fans were treated to what appeared to be an insight into Arteta’s plans when he spoke about how impressed he was with Xhaka ahead of the trip to the Vitality Stadium (via Telegraph).

And it looks fair to say that Xhaka vindicated Arteta’s faith with his performance on Boxing Day. It was not the best result for Arsenal, but there were encouraging signs. And Xhaka certainly provided one of them.
His partnership with Lucas Torreira in the middle of the park was extremely impressive. Xhaka boasted a staggeringly good passing success rate, with Whoscored.com showing that he successfully completed 90 of his 96 passes.

He also won both of the challenges he attempted. And the signs suggest that Arteta’s arrival could prove to be a real turning point in the Switzerland international’s Emirates career.
Plenty of Arsenal fans insisted that Xhaka was the man of the match. The supporters lauded the upturn in form that Xhaka seems to have enjoyed since Unai Emery’s departure.
And they are hoping that his display against the Cherries was a sign of what is to come from the 27-year-old during Arteta’s time at the helm.
