A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Gabriel Martinelli’s performance during an incredible Carabao Cup tie against Liverpool.
Unai Emery’s men missed out on a place in the quarter-final of the competition after a 10-goal thriller at Anfield ended with Liverpool winning a penalty shootout. The Gunners initially fell behind thanks to a Shkodran Mustafi own goal. But they turned the game on its head.

Lucas Torreira equalised. And then Martinelli notched another brace in the competition. Liverpool would make the scoreline 3-2 before the break, before both sides scored twice in the second-half to leave Arsenal 5-4 up heading into stoppage-time. However, Liverpool would equalise again in stoppage-time, before going on to win the spot-kicks.
Martinelli was not able to complete a hat-trick. But there is no question that the 18-year-old has, once again, enhanced his reputation.

The summer signing now has seven goals in seven games for Arsenal. And the fans are now desperate for the teenager to get more chances in the Premier League.
He is yet to start a top flight for the Gunners. But there is no question that he is doing more than simply knocking on Emery’s door.
And the supporters on social media have compared Martinelli with a number of current stars following his display at Anfield. Cristiano Ronaldo and Heung-min Son are two of the names mentioned by fans after another outstanding performance from the Brazilian.
Here is what some of the fans made of Martinelli’s performance against Liverpool…
