Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Folarin Balogun’s under-23 brace

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Folarin Balogun’s performance as the striker scored two more goals for the under-23s on Sunday.

With Mikel Arteta’s side suffering a heavy defeat on Saturday, there perhaps looks to be an opportunity for some young players to force their way into the first-team fold.

Arsenal’s priority moving forward has to be the Europa League. So perhaps there may be chances in the Premier League in the coming weeks.

And plenty of fans have implored Arteta to turn to Balogun at some stage. The 19-year-old scored twice in a 3-2 defeat to Brentford B on Sunday.

His tally in Premier League 2 stands at eight goals in 16 games. Of course, the uncertainty over his contract has not gone away (via Football London).

Arteta may be wary of using Balogun if he is definitely on his way. But if there is a chance that he could yet stay, surely the time has come to give him an opportunity.

He has the potential to be around the Premier League for a lot longer than Alexandre Lacazette. And giving him a chance may yet send him a message as he looks to make a decision on his future.

Plenty of supporters have urged Arteta to use Balogun at some stage in the near future. And they are fearful of what he could go on to achieve if he moves on in the summer.
