Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Eddie Nketiah’s cameo

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Eddie Nketiah’s display after the striker was brought on during the draw with Sheffield United on Saturday.

Nketiah was included in the Gunners’ squad for the first time since he returned from his loan spell at Leeds United earlier this month.

He struggled for game-time with Marcelo Bielsa’s side. But Mikel Arteta decided to bring the 20-year-old on for Alexandre Lacazette with just over 15 minutes remaining at the Emirates.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, the change did not have the desired effect. The Blades would equalise late on. And while Nketiah can hardly be blamed for John Fleck’s goal, plenty of fans felt that introducing the youngster was a mistake.

Some felt that Nketiah offered little while he was on the pitch. It would be harsh to be too critical of his display given that he has just returned to the club.

Nevertheless, some have questioned Arteta’s decision to bring him on, particularly for Lacazette. The game was not put to bed before the change.

There have been some supporters who have insisted that Nketiah needs to leave again before the January window closes.

Of course, that could prove difficult to facilitate. Nketiah has already played for two teams this season, so Leeds are the only other side the youngster can still play for this term.

But it does appear that plenty of supporters believe that Nketiah needs more time and experience elsewhere before he is ready for the Gunners’ first-team.

Here is what some of the supporters made of Nketiah’s cameo…
