Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Eddie Nketiah reports
A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports claiming that Eddie Nketiah has now rejected the latest contract offer from the Gunners – seemingly confirming that the striker is set to leave in the near future.
Nketiah is out of contract at the Emirates in the summer. And it appears that Mikel Arteta has been preparing for his potential departure.
The Spaniard is yet to use the 22-year-old in the Premier League this season. And in fact, he has barely been included on the bench in the opening stages of the campaign.
So it should probably come as no surprise that he has snubbed a contract offer from Arsenal. Sky Sports reports that the reason for his decision is down to his lack of game-time rather than the finances involved.
It certainly appears to all but confirm that Nketiah will be leaving Arsenal in one of the next two windows.
And for many Arsenal fans, it has now become imperative that he is offloaded during the January transfer window.
Of course, they cannot expect a significant fee. However, several Arsenal supporters believe that it makes no sense to hold onto him for the rest of the season.
‘Sell in January’: Arsenal fans react to Eddie Nketiah reports
He is not playing. And plenty have suggested that Folarin Balogun should get all of the minutes Arteta may be considering giving to Nketiah.
Certainly, few think that Nketiah leaving would be a particular blow for Arsenal.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reports…
Why are we still trynna offer him a new contract ffs!! Sell in January asap!

Thats 2 contract offers rejected and he isn’t good enough to lead our attack so wish him well and cash in in January

Why are we offering him a new deal anyway? Sell him for whatever we can in January, 5/10 million before he leaves for free in the summer.

As much as I like him as a footballer. It’s time Balogun gets his minutes no point developing him further it won’t benefit us. https://t.co/X61upkmatd

Sad really, he’s a player with top potential but he’s just not ready to start for us and he wants more than just loans every season. He’ll do well if he goes abroad, just can’t see him ever being a T4 quality player https://t.co/MIWX9YFbhA

Sell him in January, regardless of what’s on offer
