He may not have got onto the scoresheet, but many supporters clearly felt that Ceballos was man of the match.

The Spaniard was excellent in the middle of the park alongside Mohamed Elneny. And he produced some extremely impressive statistics.

As shown by Whoscored.com, he made 81 successful passes. He also managed two key passes. No player on the pitch managed more.

The 24-year-old also topped the dribbling charts, successfully completing three of the four he attempted throughout the game.

There were also flashes of real brilliance. His nutmeg of Oli McBurnie just provided another reminder of the outrageous ability the Real Madrid loanee has.

‘Absolute baller’

Unsurprisingly, he received a huge number of plaudits on social media. Many felt that he was vital to their victory, providing the impetus that the Gunners really needed in the middle of the park.
