Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Dani Ceballos’s display against Spurs

Dani Ceballos’s performance appears to have provided plenty of Arsenal fans with one of the few positives to reflect upon following their defeat in the North London derby on Sunday.

The Gunners were beaten at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium despite taking the lead through a stunning strike from Alexandre Lacazette.

Mikel Arteta’s side’s defensive deficiencies were highlighted as Spurs completed a turnaround to take the three points.

The supporters will be hoping to see big changes at the back in the summer. But one area that plenty of Arsenal fans seem more content with is in the middle of the park.

Ceballos has been hugely impressive since the season’s resumption. And he was arguably one of the players to emerge from Sunday’s game with some credit.

Whoscored.com shows that he completed four successful challenges during the game. He also made more successful passes than any other player on the pitch with 89.

It may have been a hugely disappointing day for the Gunners. But Ceballos’s display has left some Arsenal fans imploring the club to do all they can to bring him back next season.

It remains to be seen if his loan can be extended or converted into a permanent deal. But it would clearly lift the spirits of many supporters if Arsenal were able to keep hold of the 23-year-old beyond this season.
