A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to implore the club to make a move to sign Dani Ceballos permanently after the midfielder explained, in comments reported by the Daily Mirror, how happy he was to be at the Emirates.
Ceballos arrived on loan in the summer after a couple of frustrating years with Real Madrid. He made just 17 La Liga starts for Los Blancos across the two seasons.
The 23-year-old is already well on his way to eclipsing that total during his one year with the Gunners. He has made five starts for Unai Emery’s men in the Premier League. In all competitions, he has made 11 appearances.
And after returning to Spain’s squad for the current international break, the midfielder suggested that his move to Arsenal has helped him rediscover his love for football.
“Going to Arsenal has been a very important step in my career,” he said, as reported by the Mirror.
“I don’t feel sorry for not being in Madrid. Right now I am where I want to be and I am very happy. My idea was to go out, play and enjoy football. In the previous two years I had not done so.
The Mirror reports that Arsenal plan to make a move to sign Ceballos permanently. But Madrid are keen to keep the youngster and will seemingly not make it easy for the Gunners to get a deal done.
Ceballos’s comments however, have prompted a number of Arsenal fans to take to social media to urge the club to do all they can to make sure that he remains at the club beyond the end of the season.
There are some who believe that there needs to be more to come from Ceballos. But the large majority are clearly hoping that his comments are a sign that he would like to sign permanently.
Here is how some of the Arsenal fans reacted to his comments…
Dani Ceballos has bonded with the fans, his wife is learning English, his family have moved to London & he claims that he’s now ‘where he wants to be’.
It’s going to be beyond heartbreaking when he returns to Madrid next summer & Elneny comes back as his replacement.

Would be very surprised to see Dani Ceballos anywhere but Arsenal next season. He’s made it clear that Real Madrid was making him not enjoy football, and at Arsenal he’s recaptured that enjoyment.
We need a player like him as well, we should get this done ASAP.
