A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to laud Cedric Soares after the right-back produced a superb assist on international duty with Portugal on Saturday.

It proved to be a frustrating night for the Portuguese. They took a 2-0 lead against Serbia before the home side levelled the game during the second-half.

And of course, the visitors did score a winner. However, the officials failed to spot that Cristiano Ronaldo’s effort had crossed the line, and thus, the World Cup qualifier ended in a draw.

Despite the frustration, there were some positives for the Euro 2016 winners. Diogo Jota scored a brace, with Cedric providing the cross for the Liverpool man’s second.

The Arsenal man made an overlapping run down the right flank before receiving the ball. After taking one touch, Cedric then curled a superb ball into the box for Jota.

The cross seemed to take a slight deflection. But it was still a moment of brilliance from the 29-year-old.

And it appears that plenty of Gunners fans are hoping that Cedric’s part in the goal did not escape the attention of Mikel Arteta.

He has tended to play as an understudy to Hector Bellerin this term. And he was left on the bench for the draw with West Ham before the break as Calum Chambers got the nod.

Chambers was outstanding in the 3-3 draw. But many cannot understand why Cedric does not get in the team ahead of Bellerin given the quality that he can provide in the final third.

With that in mind, here is how some of the fans reacted to Cedric’s cross…
