Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Cedric Soares’s display at Wolves
Having not made a single appearance while on loan, Cedric Soares would have been forgiven for feeling the pressure ahead of his first start for Arsenal after being handed a permanent deal by Mikel Arteta last month.
The Portuguese was sidelined with injury throughout his loan. Nevertheless, Arteta clearly felt confident that he would still prove a good signing for the club as the move became a permanent one shortly after the season’s resumption.

Arsenal fans got their first glimpse of the full-back in the emphatic win over Norwich this week. And they did not need to wait much longer for Cedric to make his first start.
It looked set to be a fairly daunting task for the 28-year-old. Arsenal were looking to become only the fourth away side to win at Molineux this term when they faced Wolves on Saturday.

And thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette, Arteta’s men did indeed leave with the three points.
It was perhaps not the most eventful full debut for Cedric. But he still managed to do enough during his time out on the pitch to impress plenty of Gunners fans on social media.
Several suggested that he has the potential to establish himself as the club’s first-choice right-back in the very near future.
And plenty are excited about the level he could be able to reach after looking extremely bright on his first start since January.
Here is what some of the supporters made of Cedric’s performance…
I actually think the Cedric signing is somewhat similar to the Arteta (player) signing back in 2011. Solid, experienced Premier League player, but honestly if Twitter was around then, the signing of Mikel Arteta would’ve been seen as underwhelming. Think he’s a good addition.

Plenty of positives to take from a win against a good wolves side. Tierney, saka, Martinez, Cedric all look the part. The players all buying in to Arteta and his philosophy. A good week to be a gooner.

He’s getting a superb player! If he keeps on going like that we’ve found our first choice RB!
