Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Calum Chambers injury reports

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mail suggesting that Calum Chambers is set to miss the rest of the season.

The defender suffered a knee injury during the early stages of the Gunners’ defeat to Chelsea at the weekend. And the Mail reports that there are growing concerns that he is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The Mail suggests that he underwent tests on Monday. And it is suggested that he may have damaged his anterior cruciate ligament.

The news that Chambers could miss the rest of the campaign has, unsurprisingly, left a lot of Arsenal fans feeling extremely disappointed.

The Englishman has become a popular member of the squad amongst the fans. He has arguably been one of the few defenders who can be relatively happy with their form this term.

Could injury lead to new signing?

And reports surrounding his injury have left many wondering whether the club is cursed. Arsenal have had some terrible luck with injuries this term, and Chambers looks set to join a number of teammates on the sidelines.

There is one positive. The fans are hopeful that Chambers’s absence will convince Mikel Arteta to sign a new defender in January. Arsenal certainly need to improve their options at the back, and there is hope that this may act as a catalyst that leads to a signing being made.
