A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Bernd Leno after the goalkeeper’s display in the Gunners’ clash with Manchester City on Saturday.
Mikel Arteta may have felt that the trip to the Etihad Stadium could have been something of a free hit with expectations low.

Unfortunately, it has been a torrid start to the season for the Gunners. And any kind of positive result would have been extremely welcome.
However, City went on to win 5-0. And Arteta is facing further questions about his future.
A number of players were poor in Manchester. The scoreline could have easily been even more emphatic.

In fact, for some, it was only the display of Leno that kept the scoreline down to five. Many felt that the German was their best player.
Admittedly, a look on social media will tell you that plenty thought that Leno was just as poor as his teammates.
But several insisted on Twitter that Leno could hold his head higher than the rest. Some even labelled the 29-year-old as the man of the match.
Leno went into the game under a little pressure following the arrival of Aaron Ramsdale. Arsenal spent a considerable sum to sign the Englishman.

Obviously, conceding five will not sit well with the 2018 signing. But if Arteta is considering which players did enough to keep a place after the international break, some feel that Leno should be in that camp.
