Arsenal fans react on Twitter as Shkodran Mustafi is linked to Lazio

The German defender looks to be on his way out of the Premier League club.

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is interesting Lazio with the Serie A outfit thought to be keen on signing the player before the window closes, according to La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Mustafi arrived at the Emirates Stadium in 2016 but the Gunners have offered Lazio the chance to sign him for just £13.7 million.

The German World Cup-winning centre-back is currently injured but it’s fair to suggest he’d face a fight to regain his place in Mikel Arteta’s team.

With that in mind, Mustafi will need to leave if he wants to play first-team football and a move to Serie A could be ideal for the defender.

The £90,000-a-week (Spotrac) player has made 142 appearances for the Gunners, scoring nine goals during his four years with Arsenal.

Following news of a potential switch to Italy, Arsenal supporters have been taking to Twitter to throw their thoughts into the mix.

It seems that many would be happy with the defender leaving the club and with two wins out two this season, they are happy with Arteta’s current options.

Here is a selection of Tweets from Arsenal fans following Mustafi being linked with a switch to Lazio before the transfer window closes.
