A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to praise the Gunners after the Daily Mail reported this week that Sheffield United have seen a £3 million bid for Folarin Balogun rejected.
Balogun’s future at the Emirates looks to be uncertain. The Mail notes that he is in the final year of his contract in North London.
And that has prompted a Premier League rival to make a move. According to the Daily Mail, the Blades offered £3 million plus add-ons for the 19-year-old.
However, Chris Wilder’s men have reportedly been left stunned by Arsenal’s response. The Mail claims that the Gunners want a deal worth £15 million.
And plenty of supporters on social media have expressed their delight at Arsenal’s stance. They believe that demanding so much for such a highly-rated youngster is a sign of the improvements the club have made behind the scenes.
There is a sense of disappointment that Balogun could potentially leave. However, it must be noted that the teenager caused a stir by sending the same tweet Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent hours before signing a new deal at the Emirates.
It remains to be seen if Balogun is going to follow the club captain and end speculation over his future.
‘Not getting bullied’
But while his future remains uncertain, the fans are delighted to see Arsenal show no willingness to let him go on the cheap.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to the reports concerning Sheffield United’s bid…
£3M looool, 15M too much tho tbf. Who do people think we are with all these cheeky offers

Even though I want him to stay, asking for £15 million is big club mentality and I like it.

Good, finally not getting bullied. £15m is an accurate sum for one of our best youngsters

Yes, finally asking for proper transfer fees for our players

I’d sell him but put a buy back clause in his contract to which ever club

15mil wouldn’t be bad and if we add buy back release clause it could be a good deal
