Arsenal fans react on Twitter as report issues Folarin Balogun update

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from The Athletic suggesting that the Gunners have restarted talks with Folarin Balogun over a new contract.

It had appeared that Balogun’s days at the Emirates were numbered. Football London reported that the striker had made it clear earlier in the year that he was planning to leave when his contract expired at the end of this season.

And with Balogun making no appearances for Mikel Arteta’s side in the early weeks of the campaign, it was difficult to see his stance on his future changing.

However, he has recently made his first-team debut. And it now appears that a breakthrough may have potentially been made.

According to The Athletic, discussions over a new deal with Balogun have started again. And it has been claimed that the 19-year-old signing a contract is now a possibility.

The news has gone down well amongst many. Balogun boasts a remarkable record for the youth ranks in North London. And several fans are clearly convinced that he could be destined to play a key role for the club in the future.

‘Don’t let him go’

But there has also been a warning for Arteta. Some are not convinced that he will stay if he is not given a chance to build on his debut.

They have implored the Arsenal boss to use Balogun in the Europa League in particular. He needs to see that the pathway to the first-team is there.
