Mikel Arteta is considering his options at centre-back following the injury to Calum Chambers against Chelsea, and the new Arsenal manager could reportedly recall William Saliba – something which Arsenal fans are desperate to see.
Chambers suffered a knee injury during the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea, while his replacement Shkodran Mustafi was poor. He has been heavily criticised this season, as has David Luiz and Sokratis. Rob Holding has struggled with injuries.
The Mirror claims that following Chambers’ injury, Arteta is weighing up his centre-back options and a January move for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano could be on the cards. A recall for Saliba, though, could also be exercised.

Arsenal spent £27million (Goal) to sign Saliba in the summer before immediately loaning him back to St. Etienne. He managed just 19 appearances by the time he had signed for The Gunners, and has only added seven outings to that tally this term.
That is because a hamstring problem prevented him from playing at the start of the season, before he suffered a broken foot. However, when Saliba has played, Les Verts have been a more solid proposition.
Arsenal fans have caught wind of the reported news that Saliba could see his season-long loan cut short in January and return to north London, and the majority are desperate to see such a move happen.
