Mesut Ozil has been left out of Arsenal’s 25-man Europa League squad and Gunners supporters have been reacting on Twitter.

The £350,000-a-week playmaker hasn’t played for Arsenal since March and has made the matchday squad just twice since.

Mikel Arteta clearly doesn’t see Ozil as part of his plans moving forward and this latest step seemingly pushes him further out of contention.

Ozil has been at Arsenal since 2013 following his big-money arrival from Real Madrid. In 254 appearances he has scored 44 goals and registered 77 assists for the Gunners.

Given his sizeable salary Arsenal have struggled to offload the man who has a World Cup win to his name with Germany and he’s now in limbo.

Transfer windows are still open in Portugal, Russia and Holland but it seems unlikely a club will be forthcoming to stump up his wage.

Ozil is a player who has constantly divided the club’s supporters.

Some would still welcome him being utilised by Arteta, and the majority think he should have been given a chance in Europe.

Here is a selection of Tweets from Arsenal supporters as Ozil misses out on the Europa League squad.
