Arsenal fans react on Twitter as Gabriel Magalhaes checks in at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal have this afternoon announced the arrival of Gabriel Magalhaes who has arrived from Lille, signing a long-term contract with the Gunners.

The 22-year-old was officially unveiled on the club’s official website and the transfer has delighted the club’s supporters over on Twitter.

Arsenal have reportedly parted with £25 million (Goal) to land the Brazilian who has been linked with a move to North London for several weeks now.

Last season, the stylish central defender played 34 times in all competitions and will bring with him top-flight experience in Europe and Champions League game time.

Arsenal have targeted a defender all summer and Mikel Arteta has now finally got his man over the line ahead of the new campaign.

The Gunners now look well-stocked at the back, with some players now likely to head out in order to balance the books.

Lille were fourth in Ligue 1 when the 2019/20 campaign was cancelled and Arsenal look to be getting a quality defender.

A quick glance on Twitter suggests that supporters are desperately happy to see Arsenal get this deal completed.

The apparent lack of movement had been frustrating at times but now they have spoken of their delight at Gabriel finally checking in.
